Assistance given to NoKs of personnel killed in action in CAPFs

Assistance given to NoKs of personnel killed in action in States

Ex-Gratia by Central Government –

(i) Death occurring due to accidents in the course of performance of duties – 25 lakhs
(ii) Death in the course of performance of duties attributed to acts of violence by terrorists, anti-social element etc. – 25 lakhs
(iii) Death occurring in border skirmishes and action against militants, terrorists, extremists, sea pirates – 35 lakhs
(iv) Death occurring while on duty in the specified high altitude, un-accessible border posts, etc. on account of natural disasters, extreme weather condition – 35 lakhs
(v) Death occurring during enemy action in war or such war like engagements, which are specifically notified by MoD and death occurring during evacuation of Indian Nationals from a war-torn zone in foreign country – 45 lakhs.

Pension –

(i) Category ‘A’ – 50% of basic pay
(ii) Category ‘B’ – 60% of basic pay subject to minimum Rs.7,000/-
(iii) Category ‘C’ – 60% of basic pay subject to minimum Rs.7,000/-
(iv) Category ‘D’ – 100% of basic pay
(v) Category ‘E’ – 100% of basic pay

DCRG –

(i) Less than 01 yrs service – 02 time emoluments
(ii) 01 to less than 05 yrs service – 06 time emoluments
(iii) 05 to less than 20 yrs service – 12 time emoluments
(iv) 20 yrs and more service – half of emoluments for every completed 06 monthly period of qualifying service subject to maximum 33 yrs emoluments of Rs. 10 lakh

BSF Welfare Fund –

(i) The NOK of deceased can avail medical treatment from BSF hospital free of cost.
(ii) Any genuine financial welfare measure which is not covered under any other fund such as bravery award etc. will be given out of this fund.

BSF CBF –

Rs.50,000/- i.e. Rs.5,000/- in cash payment and Rs.45,000/- in the shape of FDR/NSC.

BSF SRF –

(i) Immediate Relief – Rs.20,000/-
(ii) Assistance for 02 daughter’s/sister marriage – Rs.60,000/- each daughter/ sister.
(iii) Assistance for education of children University (non-tech & tech)
Day scholar – Rs.800/- p.m.
Boarder – Rs.1000/- p.m.

Golden Jubilee Seema Prahari Kalyan Kawach –

(i) Killed/Deceased during operation – Rs. 20 lakh.
(ii) Death due to malaria – Rs.15 lakh.
(iii) Unnatural death/accidental death during active duty – Rs.15 lakh.
(iv) Death due to any other reason – Rs.10 lakh.

Scholarship –

(i) DG’s Merit Scholarship – Total 15 Nos. – Rs.15000/- PA for girl and Rs.12000/- PA for boy.
(ii) Police Memorial Fund Scholarship – 10 Nos. for all CAPFs – Rs.15000/- PA
(iii) Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme – Total 15 Nos. (05 students per stream Science, Art & Commerce) – Rs.15000/- on time only.

Ex-gratia compensation from State Governments (Appendix-A)

Ex-Gratia by Central Government –
(i) Death occurring due to accidents in the course of performance of duties – 25 lakhs

Ex-Gratia Lump such compensation to CAPFs personnel who are boarded out of service on account of disability attributable to or aggravated in service are eligible.
(i) 100% disability – 9 lakhs
(ii) The amount of Ex-Gratia may be reduced in proportion to the degree of disability.

Welfare & Rehabilitation Board –
To look after the Ex-CAPFs personnel, those medically boarded out and the widow/dependents of those who die in harness –
(i) To arrange vocational training for empowerment of retired personnel and NOKs of deceased Force personnel.
(ii) Allotment of Mother Diary Safal Booths.
(iii) Arranging counseling (in-house/ professional) in self-employment and alternative employment to retires as also to the NOKs of deceased Force personnel.

Central Police Canteen –
To cater the need of daily use items of serving & retired Force personnel, 19 Central Police Master Canteens and 172 Subsidiary Canteens have been opened in CISF Units.

Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) –
(i) Wards/Widows of personnel killed in action (all rank) and Wards/Widows of retired and serving CISF personnel (below officer rank) for pursing first professional degree/programme and having minimum 60% marks in 10+2/Diploma/ Graduation or equivalent, are eligible for scholarship.
(ii) Rs.27000/- for girls & Rs.24000 for boys.

Quota in MBBS/BDS –
Wards of personnel killed in action/retired/serving can avail quota in 15 MBBS and 02 BDS seats reserved for all CAPFs by MHA.

Risk Saving Fund –
In case of death/missing and invalidation out of service with 100% disability
(i) Lump sum grant on death of member of the force – Rs.7 lakh (5 lakh to NOK plus 2 Lakh to the parents/NOK).
(ii) Killed in action – Rs.10 lakh (Rs.7 lakh to the NOKs and 3 lakh to parents).
(iii) For missing personnel – Rs.5 lakh in 4 equal installments starting after 3 years of date of missing.
(iv) Invalidation – Invalidation for 81% and above – Rs.5 lakh
Invalidation for 51-80% – Rs.3.25 lakh
Invalidation upto 50% – Rs.2 lakh

Central Welfare Fund –

Ex-gratia payment of Rs.25000/- is paid to NoK of deceased force personnel for funeral rites etc.

Welfare measures for Wards –
DG’s merit award in academics & Sports from CWF
(i) Academics  –
(a) Rs.27000/- for girls & Rs.25000/- for boys for 95% and above marks.
(b) Rs.23000/- for girls & Rs.20000/- for boys for marks between 90% to 95%
(ii) Sports – Rs.27000/- for girls & Rs.25000/- for boys.

Ex-Gratia by Central Government –

Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) –

Rs.27000/- p.a. for girls & Rs.24000/- p.a. for boys.

Dependent family member is considered for Compassionate appointments.

By State Government –
Ex-gratia compensation & Insurance varies from State to State (Appendix-B).

From CWF – On any type of Death – Rs.1 lakh to the NOK of deceased personnel as financial assistance.
From CWF/WAF – Rs.50000/- from CWF/Welfare & Amenity Fund. (Rs.30000/- from CWF and Rs.20000/- from WAF).

From Education Fund –
Scholarship under ‘Ashok Chakra Smt. Kamlesh Kumari Scheme – Rs.15,000/- to one topper student of Class 11 each from Science/Commerce/ Art stream who is studying in CRPF Public School only.

Shaheed Scholarship Scheme – Rs.2,000/-. Granted to only those CRPF wards whose parents are killed in action/active duty or sustained 100% disability in action, upto Class-12 or till the ward is studying in the CRPF Public Schools, Rhonini/Dwarka, New Delhi and Jawahar Nagar, Ranga Reddy, Andhra Pradesh.

Shrawan Tandon Scholarship –
To 3 topper students of Class-12 in streams of Science, Agriculture, Commerce & Arts to the wards of CPRF martyrs of Rs.6000/ each–.
If no girl ward of martyrs finds merit in toppers list in any stream of Class-12 as above, it will then add another category exclusively for girls and categories of scholarship of Rs.5000/- each to 3 topper students of Class-12 in 4 streams, Science, Agriculture, Commerce & Arts.

Scholarship for Girls –
Rs.5000/- each to 3 topper students of Class-12 in Science stream.

(ii) Death gratuity based on length of service.
(iii) CGEIS-1980 (Rs.30000/- to Gp-C, Rs.60000/- to Gp-B and Rs.120000/- to Gp-A. Saving fund of CGEGIS is also admissible as per amount deposited by the deceased Government servant.
(iv) Financial Assistance from Staff Benevolent Fund for Rs.800000/- (Admissible to SSB personnel only)
(v) Funeral charges of Rs.5000/- in case employee dies in harness.
(vi) Insurance cover from PMSP bank account, in case of OR, Rs.200000/- is admissible.

Police Memorial Fund Scholarship Scheme  –
Wards of Non-gazetted police personnel including (State Police & CAPFs) killed in action for vocational course – Rs.15000/-, for academic session-Rs.5000/- PA. Total 5-seats for technical course and 10-seats for Degree.

Quota in MBBS/BDS  –
Wards of personnel killed in action can avail quota in 15 MBBS and 02 BDS seats reserved for all CAPFs by MHA.
